Mackenzie Bengtsson belongs to many different categories. Every one of them have one thing in common: the writing. Whether it be a poem, a novel, a song, or a script, Mackenzie is focusing on the story being created through words. It has been the only thing to ever make sense to him.
Over the last four years, Mackenzie has dedicated himself to many creative pursuits. In 2023 he wrote, directed, shot, and edited his own short film, Lonesome, Breathless. Through 2024 he continued to hone his craft at non-fiction writing with The Gateway, a university run paper at the University of Alberta where Mackenzie attends school studying English. In 2025, he has continued his work at The Gateway as the Deputy Opinion Editor and a cartoonist; released an alternative folk album titled Songs From Far Away; and is currently working on a new novel with a working title of Laid.
Mackenzie is continuously and tirelessly working to create something meaningful.
